Since the goal of the Understanding Israel Foundation is to form a voting bloc, persons who do not hold Trinidad & Tobago citizenship or are not legal residents with the right to participate in voting at Trinidad & Tobago's General Elections are unable to join as Full Members, and counted toward the Membership population. However, they are welcome to join as Associate Members and are eligible to serve as staff, on the Board of Directors, as Emissaries, and as Strategic Advisors. Associate Members, however, will not be eligible for vote at the Understanding Israel Foundation's Annual General Meeting.

Associate Members may become Contributing Members and/or Volunteer Members and/or Corporate Members.
